Mold / Air Quality

Is there mold in my house?  I hear this question weekly.  If there are water leaks or excessive moisture in the air, then you may have mold.  Moisture is the enemy!

So that spot under in the kitchen sink cabinet that is always wet, or the spot on the drywall in the bathroom that gets wet, is probably mold.

How do we find out?  If you do not know of any direct excessive moisture, we can preform an Air quility test that will tell us what you are breathing.  If high levels are found then we can start investigating to find the source of the problem.

Do you get headaches when at home?  How about other Alergic responses such as: sneeziing, runny nose, red eyes, or skin Rash.  All of these conditions may be caused by what you are breathing in your home. Mold can also cause asthma attacks in people with asthma who are allergic to mold.

How do I get rid of it?  It is impossible to get rid of all mold and mold spores indoors; some mold spores will be floating through the air and in house dust.  The mold spores will not grow if moisture is not present.  Indoor mold growth can and should be prevented or controlled by controlling moisture indoors.

If there is mold growth in your home, you must clean up the mold and fix the water problem.  If you clean up the mold, but do not fix the water problem, then, most likely the mold problem will come back.
