An older man lived here and was worried his basement may flood if the electric went out.  He installed this pump in the bathroom directly over the sump pit in the basment.  A pipe runs through the cabinet into the sump pit below.  Just pump and it goes right into the toilet...Genius!....Until your arms get tired.....
